Brisbane Conference Invitation

I am writing to personally invite you the National Conference sponsored by The Queensland Branch. The Branch has worked very hard to present an outstanding program of speakers who will share their perspectives on “A Bridge to the Future.”Once you have read their biographies in the February edition of The Order, I am sure you will agree these speakers will be well worth hearing.

You will also have the opportunity to meet and hear from six young Australians, as they share their career aspirations, and explain how the Foundation Scholarship will assist them in achieving their goals.

Rydges Hotel is ideally situated on the South Bank in Brisbane, right on the river and is surrounded by a wide variety of dining venues, entertainment, live theatre and the arts.

The Conference will provide a wonderful opportunity to catch up with old friends, make new ones and relax in the River City.

I hope we can count on your support, and I look forward to seeing you in Brisbane.

I am sure all members of the Order of Australia Association join me in horror and disgust at the attack on Jewish Australians peacefully celebrating Hanukkah.  This is not just an attack on our Jewish Australians; it is an attack on the diverse Australian community of which we can be so proud.

Our thoughts go out to those directly and indirectly affected and to the many who rendered assistance under potentially hazardous circumstances

We join with those who see this as a direct challenge to our tolerant and welcoming Australian way of life.  We all have a duty to speak out against violence and intolerance in our community and to work towards a society where all can live and worship in harmony.
