About Us
The NT Branch of the Order of Australia Association holds a number of events each year which includes our AGM and one or two other social events, including:
- OAA NT annual dinner function
- Commemorative events surrounding the Anniversary of the arrival of World War 2 to Darwin when the first bombs fell on Australian soil on 19 February 1942
The Mayor of Alice Springs organises a function each year to catch up and welcome new members and introduce them to our existing Order of Australia recipients in the red centre.
We have plans to expand our activities to include other regional centres such as Katherine, Tennant Creek and Nhulunbuy.
One of the main aims of the NT Branch of The Order of Australia Association is to raise awareness about The Order of Australia and the process through which awards are granted. The Branch regularly distributes information to those who are seeking to submit a nomination and holds information sessions for interested groups throughout the year. We strive to increase the number of applications from the NT and in particular to increase the diversity of the nominations to represent our incredibly diverse and multicultural society.
