Dianne North OAM

Dianne has been married to David, for 49 years. They have two sons and are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren.

Dianne became a registered pharmacist in 1973 and worked as a pharmacy manager, owner, rural locum, hospital pharmacist (specialising in Palliative Care) and an oncology pharmacist in a private clinic until her retirement in 2022.

Dianne joined Rotary in 2008 and was selected to be the District Governor for Rotary District 9675 for the 2019-20 Rotary year.

In 2013 Dianne became the Rotary District Chair for Interplast raising money to sponsor two surgical missions – Fiji (2015) and Solomon Islands (2016). Dianne was accepted to be a Rotarian Observer on an Interplast surgical mission to Tonga in February 2017. From June 2019 Dianne raised $50,000 to send an Interplast Surgical Mission to Myanmar in November 2019. Dianne travelled to Myanmar to meet the medical teams and to witness firsthand the great work of Interplast. Dianne is now a member of the Interplast Rotarian Committee which assists the Board in the running of Interplast.

Dianne was a member of the volunteer organisations, SAFF (Supporting Amputees Families and Friends) Illawarra, for a number of years and served as its treasurer for several years.

Dianne enjoys participating in fun runs. This year will be Dianne’s 34th City2Surf. Dianne has played wheelchair basketball and was an accredited basketball score table official working at NBL and wheelchair NBL levels and the Sydney 2000 Paralympics for both basketball and rugby.

Both Dianne and her husband, David, received the Order of Australia (OAM) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in June 2019 for their service to the community of the Illawarra.
